There are many, many reasons for games to crash. Before you post on the Tech Support forum please ensure that you have at least done the following:
- Ensure you have patched to the latest version (1.4) and are using the correct one for your version of the game.
- Run a full virus check on your machine, and run a spy-ware removal tool such as Ad-aware or Spybot S&D.
- Run Scandisk and defragment your hard drive.
- Try running a memory-testing tool such as memtest86 (try google for download locations).
- Run Dxdiag to ensure there are no problems with DirectX.
- If you are overclocking your machine, return to its original settings.
- If you have updated your drivers before the crashes started then try going back to an earlier version. If you haven’t then get the latest drivers for your motherboard, sound and graphics cards.
