M6 combat is not about frantic dog-fighting, it's about swooping in and destroying as many targets as possible. The high shielding allows you so stay deep in battle while your powerful turrets and front weaponry remove any opposition. Engage the enemy with your front guns then slow down and fly through their ranks to bring the turrets into play. With those 125MW shields you have almost all the time in the world. When fighting other Corvettes it is important that you keep yourself in a position of dominance over your target, staying out of their most powerful weaponry, but otherwise the principle is the same.
