There could be many reasons for this. The quick answer is that you are not being tactical about it. The art of fighting in an M5 is to use the superior speed and agility to stay alive. If they can't hit you, they can't kill you. The reverse is also true - it's great being able to avoid the incoming fire but if you can't return sufficient firepower on target then you are not going to frighten anyone.
